About the Role
Supervise coal mine workers and take control of activities in one or more Explosion Risk Zones for an underground coal mine
• Carry out inspections of an Explosion Risk Zone, assessing if the zone is safe for operations, covering all matters in Coal Mining Safety and Health legislation
• Direct and oversee all personnel, systems and equipment within the mining zone
• Comply with, and audit compliance to, the Safety and Health Management System for the mine
• Record findings of inspections and other activities, and make them available to coal mine workers
About you
As the successful candidate, you will possess an underground statutory ticket - as minimum a Deputy’s Certificate of Competency in Queensland
• You will have demonstrated leadership skills and experience, supervising work teams in an underground environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must, with interpersonal skills allowing you to build relationships within your teams and across departments.
• You will be able to communicate with disciplines at all levels and be capable of problem solving and working independently.
