SONATRACH
1. KEY OBJECTIVES
• Execute all tasks on instrument installation and instrument equipment in HBR field facilities including HBR Production system at REB and future new installation equipment in the field
• Ensure during the execution that facilities are maintained in compliance with Company’s
Safety, Security, Health, and Environment (SSHE) policy 

• Perform the maintenance preventive and corrective work orders on all instrument
installations and equipment.
• Make periodic visual inspections on instrument installations and equipment to detect any failure or abnormal functioning.
• Ensure the availability of tools and special tools and spare parts before starting the work.
• Check and calibrate tools and measurement devices.
• Ensure compliance with hygiene and safety rules.
• Collaborates with other departments (Production & SSHE) to ensure efficient and safe interventions.
2. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Technical Accountability/Contribution
• The incumbent's duties are to comply with hygiene, safety and environmental rules and guidelines.
• Participate in the development of preventive maintenance programs for all instrument
installation, power generation system, and instrument equipment.
• Participate in HSE firefighting trainings, Emergency response drills and in the firefighting intervention with HSE in case of real case.
• To be a certified Performing a Certified Isolation within the HBR Permit to Work System.
• Sound knowledge in basic Control and Safety System (CSS), WHCP, HPU, Cathodic protection system, Solar power generation system, Diesel generator system, etc.
• Participate to maintain general housekeeping of the equipment such as CCR / LERs / WHCP,
HPU / Battery room
• Have a full understanding of the requirements of instrument isolation, de-isolation and reinstatement of plant, equipment, and machinery in accordance with Maintenance
Management Systems.
• Perform routine inspection, testing and repair of instrument equipment in the HBR Field
facilities
• Participate in rationalization of the use of personnel and material means to achieve objectives within the timeframe.
• Participate with the Head of Instrument to ensure the availability of necessary spare parts to perform the preventive and corrective maintenance of all Instrument equipment of field installations.
• Participate with the Head of Instrument to prepare all Instrument equipment tools, material and spare parts needed to perform the routine maintenance and ensuring the continuity functioning of all Instrument equipment.
• Collaboration and coordination with other departments for the execution of the work.
• Execute Preventive / Corrective Maintenance program according to the work order on time
with the minimum consumption of spare parts and consumable.
• Assist the Head of Instrument to perform analysis of all instrument installation and equipment for necessary improvements.
• Be aware about the maintenance standard procedures and work instructions according to instrument equipment maintenance program.
• Contribute and interact with other relevant department in facility planning process and
platform inspection routines
• Participate with the Head of Instrument to conduct inspections and audit to evaluate equipment and utilities operational condition to determine necessary remedial action
• Resolving technical problems and establishing revision programs
• In the event of an emergency, carry out emergency duties in accordance with the Emergency Response Plan.
• Development and participation in technical studies of new renovation or expansion project
• Attend the OJT within the field of instrument and in the appropriate training for their development.
• Assist Head of Instrument to keeps up-to-date technical documentation related to all
instrument system and instrument equipment.

• Keep abreast of relevant latest technology development to be considered for possible
implementation at workplace.
• Considering for Cost optimization VS Best efficiency.
3. KEY AUTHORITIES
• Signatory to certify onshore pre-commissioning/ commissioning activities including, e.g.
troubleshooting and repair report for all instrument system and instrument equipment
• Participate in the development of all instrument system and instrument equipment preventive / Corrective maintenance programs using CMMS database (ERP system)
• Assist Head of Instrument to evaluate the requirement of Available Critical Spares and
necessary spared parts.
4. SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities for Instrument technician are:
• Promote active safety awareness in the Maintenance Department, Monitor and ensure
compliance with Company’s SSHE procedures.
• Support Head of Instrument during emergency response and be able to handle emergency.
• Undertake safety inspection of plant, equipment, machinery, and process
• Ensure the availability of Permit to work before starting the work.
• Report all accident, incidents, near misses and dangerous occurrences to Head of Instrument
immediately.
• Ensure the cleanness of the workplace after completing the work.
• Inform the CCR before starting the work and after finishing it.
5. WORKING RELATIONSHIP
• Head of Instrument and all personnel in Maintenance department
• CCR operators and all personnel in Production department
• All personnel in SSHE department
• HBR Contractors and EPC Contractors.
• Vendors, workshops and related support personnel
6. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Mandatory
• Technician Degree qualification in Instrument or relevant technical experience.
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in in handling instrument equipment maintenance for
hydrocarbon production industry environment
• Broad knowledge and competent in oil and gas facilities maintenance and process.
• Broad knowledge of Project, Construction and Commissioning activities, with previous
experience in one or more Algeria construction sites.
• Experience working in the Dessert environment, preferably Algeria
• Ability to work Rotational Basis : 4X4 SR
• Strong interpersonal and supervisory skills
• Written and oral communication skills in English and French.
• Physical and / or intellectual effort
• Be able to travelling for company’s business.
