Employment Information

Your role will consist of

Mechanical Maintenance:

  • Perform routine inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on a wide range of mining machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues and develop effective repair solutions to prevent equipment breakdowns.

Preventative Maintenance:

  • Execute scheduled preventative maintenance tasks to extend the lifespan of equipment and prevent unexpected failures.
  • Conduct systematic checks, lubrication, and parts replacement as needed.

Safety Compliance:

  • Adhere to all safety protocols, company policies, and state/federal regulations to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Identify and report safety hazards promptly.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
  • Complete daily reporting requirements accurately, including written and verbal communication of work performed.

Equipment Operation:

  • Operate mining equipment as necessary to assist in mine operations.
  • Ensure safe and efficient operation of equipment while adhering to safety guidelines.

Your Training, Skills & Experience Checklist

  • Proven experience as a mechanic, with a preference for 5+ years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems in heavy machinery.
  • Familiarity with hand and power tools commonly used in equipment maintenance.
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Understanding of safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Working Conditions & Location

  • This is a full-time position, often requiring 12-hour shifts with rotations between day and night shifts.
  • The Cripple Creek & Victor (CC&V) Mine site is located at elevations ranging from approximately 9,400 ft. to 10,600 ft. above sea level. Workers in this position must be physically capable of working at this altitude.
  • Based at the mining site, which may involve exposure to varying weather conditions and rugged terrain.
