Report to work physically fit
Perform daily workplace inspections with the Mine supervisors to identify hazards and assign actions for resolution of identified hazards
Complete safety training and certification as required by site and departmental procedure
Leadership in Risk Identification processes and supports in the development of STP’s/SOP’s/JHA’s as required for safe work execution.
Coach the operations team to execute all tasks in a safe way, identifying safety concerns and suggesting procedural and technical improvements to improve performance. Perform Safety Interactions.
Coach Mine Supervisors in making quality safety interactions and observations.
Operational Excellence & Growth
Support implementation of operational excellence initiatives, including Full Potential projects, managing the implementation of procedural, behavioral, and technological changes.
Identify performance and productivity gaps and recommend best practices that can be adopted to improve performance in the areas of drilling, blasting, loading, hauling, road construction and maintenance, and water management.
Coach front-line supervisors to effectively lead their crews and to comply with Newmont Standards.
Perform on-the-job training with operators to improve productivity and safety performance.
Environment, Social, Governance
Follow procedures related to environmental sustainability
Report environmental incidents and support investigations
Collaborate with business partners in the best interest of the company

Participate in capability training per departmental procedure
Experience:
Minimum 10 years’ experience operating in large open pit gold mines, of which at least 3 years in supervisory capacity. Experience in Newmont operations and exposure to Newmont’s global systems and processes is a strong pre;
Experience working with Caterpillar 495 rope shovels, Komatsu 930 trucks, dozers, graders and Komatsu hydraulics shovels (8000, 5500);
Experience working in various ground conditions
Knowledge:
Secondary School education
Basic Computer skills(MS Outlook,Word,Excel & PowerPoint etc)
The incumbent for this position is required to work a 4/3 – 5/2 roster (negotiable) and is expected to spend most of her/his time in the field, with some office work. The incumbent must to be prepared to work safely in a difficult working environment due to varying weather conditions including high temperatures and elevated humidity. Accommodation on site will be in a camp environment.
